The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

There's a bit of a scramble here and now johnson is on top in guard.

johnson misses with a takedown attempt - bishop sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

bishop is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

It looks like rick johnson has been cut.
johnson doesn't manage to clinch there - bishop circles away.

and bishop holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

sonny bishop seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

johnson is working for a rear naked choke. bishop is not defending it well and johnson has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! bishop refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of bishop's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
