Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roger Swift!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paul Wall!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Jonathan Paton and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Swift is defended easily by Wall.
Wall shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Swift counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Wall is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Wall wants to stand but Swift is controlling the position.
Swift landing with the ground and pound.
Swift lands a couple of digs.
Swift landing some decent shots from guard.
Wall controlling the position.
Swift is looking to advance position but Wall has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Wall is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Swift has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Swift!

Swift trying to control the position from guard on top but Wall is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Wall has Swift pulled in close to control his posture.
Swift is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Swift won't allow Wall to sweep him here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Swift drops back, looking for a kneebar! Wall looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Wall looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Wall!
Swift is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Swift is working hard here to advance position.

Wall decides to stand back up.
Wall looks gassed!

and Swift counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Swift.

Swift wants to control from the top but Wall keeps moving.
Wall wants to stand and escape but Swift is having none of it.

Wall manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Swift is looking to improve his position but Wall isn't that keen on the idea.
Swift wants to hold on but Wall pushes him away.
Swift tries to reverse the position but Wall maintains control.
Wall with a couple of short strikes.
Wall blocks Swift's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Wall trying to control but he's not successful this time.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Swift is in all sorts of trouble here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wall cracks Swift with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Swift keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Swift knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wall on the ground.
Swift swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Wall connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roger Swift dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Swift is looking to clinch.

Roger Swift seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Wall counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Wall postures up.
Wall stands up over Swift, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Wall works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Swift is defending against the submission attempts here by Wall.
Swift tries to roll over but Wall keeps him under control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Wall lands with a punch from half guard.
Roger Swift overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Swift trying to get back to full guard but Wall takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!

Swift is trying to escape the mount.

Wall cracks Swift with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Wall can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Swift is looking to escape.

Wall wants to finish this one by submission but Swift is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Wall.

Swift working to try and regain half guard.

Wall stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Wall shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Wall was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Swift really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Wall is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Swift can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Wall has control of Swift's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Swift regains control of the situation pretty easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Swift is pressing down on Wall's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Swift wants to hit a switch here but Wall passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Swift there!
Wall looking to control but Swift is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Wall is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Swift is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Swift flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Wall anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Swift and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Wall slips an arm under Swift chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Wall has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Wall is squeezing on Swift like an anaconda would it's prey. Swift fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Paul Wall!
