Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manuel Mendoza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mendoza has chosen Accept - Balls to the Wall as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Manuel Mendoza has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Santos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Mauricio Rocha and Alexandre Firmino.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendoza avoids the body shot from Santos.
Mendoza swinging wildly here.
Anderson Santos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Santos darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Santos misses with a two punch combination.
Mendoza tries to close the distance and clinch but Santos swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Mendoza.
Santos dips to his left and cracks Mendoza with an uppercut!
Santos throws a lazy right hand but Mendoza sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Mendoza has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

and Mendoza counters with a three punch combo that has Santos backing up. Santos nods at Mendoza to acknowledge the strikes.
Santos keeps the fight on the outside.
Mendoza closes the distance and clinches up with Santos, looking for a takedown. Mendoza pushes Santos against the ropes but Santos circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Santos is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Santos is thwarting Mendoza's attempts to control the position.

Santos is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mendoza doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Santos.
Mendoza is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Mendoza is looking to improve his position.

Santos is looking for a kimura but Mendoza is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Santos to get the leverage.

Mendoza kicks off Santos and gets to his feet.
Santos slaps away a takedown attempt from Mendoza, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Anderson Santos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Manuel Mendoza.
Mendoza tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Santos paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Santos throws the left hand but Mendoza avoids the punch easily.

Mendoza doesn't manage to clinch there - Santos circles away.
Mendoza throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Santos's waist but Santos gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mendoza off to one side.

Santos ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Mendoza uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Santos.
Santos lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Mendoza slips a jab and a cross from Santos.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Santos scores with a kick to the midsection.

Mendoza walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

The fighters circle momentarily. Santos darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Santos lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Mendoza is rocked!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nice uppercut lands for Santos. That snapped Mendoza's head back.
Mendoza is still on wobbly legs! Can Santos finish him?
The crowd cheers as Santos lands an impressive looking overhand right. Mendoza doesn't seem phased though.
Mendoza dodges the punch combination from Santos.
Santos is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Santos throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Mendoza stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Santos clobbers Mendoza with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Mendoza looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Santos is fending him off so far but Mendoza persists. Nope, Santos circles away and we're back to standing.
Santos lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Mendoza drops his hands momentarily and Santos needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Mendoza just on the top of the head. Mendoza drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Mendoza - he's done!
