Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Peter Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nokami Yamaoka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Martin comes into the arena with Freude schöner Götter Funken blaring out of the sound system. Yamaoka has chosen Yujirio's Quest as his entrance music. Nokami Yamaoka has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Hirohito Nitta.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Martin scores with a takedown into Yamaoka's guard.
Martin trying to control but Yamaoka is working from the bottom.
Yamaoka is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Martin drops back looking for a leg! Yamaoka is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Yamaoka manages to kick Martin off! Martin jumps back into Yamaoka's guard.
Yamaoka pulls Martin in close to prevent any damage.

Martin avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Martin throwing strikes from guard but Yamaoka blocks nicely.

Martin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Martin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Yamaoka tries to avoid it but Martin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Yamaoka to the ground. Yamaoka escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Martin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Martin shoots in looking for a takedown. Yamaoka tries to sprawl out of it but Martin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Yamaoka manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Martin shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Yamaoka as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Peter Martin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Martin misses with a body kick.
Yamaoka slaps away a takedown attempt from Martin, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Martin shoots in for a double leg but Yamaoka sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Martin is breathing heavily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Yamaoka circles away from the clinch attempt.

Yamaoka feints and as Martin raises his hands in defense, Yamaoka changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Yamaoka gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Yamaoka scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Martin displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Yamaoka.
Martin doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Yamaoka counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Yamaoka gets to his feet. Martin looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Martin drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Yamaoka looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Martin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Martin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Martin won't allow Yamaoka to get back to his feet.

Martin drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Yamaoka manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Martin has Yamaoka in his guard.
Martin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Yamaoka is one step ahead there.

Yamaoka would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Martin has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Yamaoka doesn't defend quickly enough and Martin has managed to lock this one up! Can Yamaoka escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Martin on a fantastic submission victory.
