The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Poujanofski feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Poujanofski postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Poujanofski is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Ivarov is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Ivarov has escaped and now he's on top!
Ivarov won't allow Poujanofski to sweep him here.
Ivarov has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Ivarov would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Poujanofski is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ivarov defends well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Poujanofski is looking for a triangle but Ivarov pushes his legs off easily.

Poujanofski throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Ivarov escapes and throws Poujanofski's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Ivarov decides to stand back up. Ivarov steps back and let's Poujanofski get back to his feet.
Ivarov bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

It looks like Sergai Poujanofski has been cut.
