PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Westwood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keke Ikonen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Westwood's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Lynyrd Skynyrd - Sweet Home Alabama. Ikonen has chosen Conan the Barbarian as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Anni Minnemäki and Arvi Lind.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Westwood lands a nice hook to Ikonen's body. Ikonen takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Ikonen misses with a takedown attempt - Westwood sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Ikonen avoids a punch combination nicely.
Westwood misses with a body shot.

Westwood gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Westwood will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Ikonen prevents Westwood from getting back to his feet.

Ikonen drops back, looking for a kneebar! Westwood looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Westwood looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Westwood!
Ikonen is trying to control Westwood's posture but Westwood avoids it.
Ikonen is looking for a sweep.

Ikonen is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Westwood's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Ikonen is trying to control but can't.

Westwood stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Ikonen to get to his feet.
Ikonen takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Westwood really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Westwood stuns Ikonen with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Westwood stuffs the takedown.
Ikonen looks gassed!
Westwood lands a nice hook to Ikonen's body. Ikonen takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Ikonen bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Ikonen closes the distance and clinches up with Westwood, looking for a takedown. Ikonen pushes Westwood against the cage but Westwood circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Chuck Westwood has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Keke Ikonen.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ikonen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Westwood but Westwood pushes him off and we're back to square one.

The crowd cheers as Westwood lands an impressive looking overhand right. Ikonen doesn't seem phased though.

Westwood throws out a loose jab but Ikonen uses good head movement to avoid it.

A decent looking cross lands there for Westwood.
Westwood comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Westwood connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Ikonen momentarily.

Ikonen is rocked!
Westwood throws a lazy right hand but Ikonen sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Ikonen is still on wobbly legs! Can Westwood finish him?
Westwood is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Westwood throws a hook but Ikonen avoids it easily.
Westwood is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Ikonen seems to have recovered his senses.

Westwood scores with a jab. Ikonen acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
