Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan Connely (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Logen Glotka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Logen Glotka will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Connely closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Glotka did well to prevent Connely getting side control.
Connely thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Glotka is looking to improve his position.
Glotka trying to hold on to Connely's head to control him but Connely postures up.

Connely has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Connely wants to stand up but Glotka is controlling the position.

Glotka manages to get to full guard.
Connely stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Glotka swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Connely connects with a single shot there.

Connely feints and as Glotka raises his hands in defense, Connely changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Connely stands up over Glotka, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Connely wants to control from the top but Glotka keeps moving.

Glotka is looking to stand up but Connely isn't so interested in that idea.
Glotka wants to sweep but no luck.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Glotka can do anything to dispel that myth.
Glotka is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Connely stays in close to Glotka's body and controls the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Connely takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Connely throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Connely throws a jab when Glotka was well out of range.
Connely misses with an uppercut. Glotka saw that one coming.
A swing and a miss from Connely.
Connely misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Glotka.
Glotka connects with a jab.

It looks like Dan Connely has been cut.

Glotka drops Connely with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Connely looks back up at him and smiles so Glotka waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Connely is rocked!

Glotka keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Connely.
Connely is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Glotka doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Connely crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Connely's bad books for that mishap!
