Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dylan James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jure Car (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jure Car will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dylan James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jure Car!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Sosuke Kotani and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

James looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
James slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Car is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and James defends well.

James shoots and misses
and Car counters with a nice uppercut.
Car doesn't succeed with the takedown

and James counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by James.

James tries to free his leg and advance position but Car is retaining full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

James might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
James stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Car swivels though and keeps the full guard.
James wants to get up but he can't break Car's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Car looking for a sweep. Not yet Car, not yet.
Car controls James momentarily but James frees himself.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
James tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Car swivels and escapes.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
James throws a big shot that misses.

James gets caught flat footed, as Car shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Car looks gassed!
James wants to stand and escape but Car is having none of it.

Car postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! James is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Car, into his guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

James gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
James shoots in looking for a takedown. Car tries to sprawl out of it but James keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Car manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Car throws a head kick that misses

so James counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
James controls from within his opponent's guard.

Car is working an open guard so James takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Car looks to clinch
and James counters with a body kick.
James fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

James shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Car wants to get back to full guard.

Car looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

James is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
James drops an elbow to the side of Car's head.

James stops Car from getting back to his feet.
Dylan James overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, James cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Car is trying to maintain the position but James is very close to passing his half guard.

James decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

James shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Car with a lazy takedown attempt

James drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Car's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Car is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
James slows the pace down in half guard.
James seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

and James decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Car's guard.

Car really doesn't want to stay on the ground with James. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jure Car has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Car is striking from the bottom but James uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
James is controlling the pace.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Car has hold of James's hands but James slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dylan James showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for James, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
