Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ronnie Carlton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chuck McBuck!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McBuck throws a lazy right hand but Carlton sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Carlton scores with a decent looking hook.


It looks like Chuck McBuck has been cut.
Carlton lands a straight punch to the body, keeping McBuck at a distance.
McBuck looks to throw the jab but Carlton is out of range.

Carlton goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, McBuck has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Carlton but great work by McBuck.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

McBuck has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Carlton darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Carlton fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McBuck manages to avoid it.
McBuck throws a lazy right hand but Carlton sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Ronnie Carlton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Carlton shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in McBuck's guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Carlton looking to sit in guard and control but McBuck gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
McBuck wanted to stand there but Carlton had control of the position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Carlton is on top in guard.

Carlton stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McBuck swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Carlton drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but McBuck manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Carlton has McBuck in his guard.
Carlton wants to hit a switch here but McBuck passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Carlton there!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

McBuck bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Carlton shoots in for a takedown but McBuck shows good takedown defense.
McBuck takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
McBuck lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Carlton thows a body shot but no joy.

The crowd cheers as Carlton lands an impressive looking overhand right. McBuck doesn't seem phased though.

McBuck moves out of range as Carlton strikes.

Carlton throws the left hand but McBuck avoids the punch easily.
Carlton misses with a takedown attempt - McBuck sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
McBuck is breathing heavily.
McBuck stuffs the takedown attempt from Carlton. Carlton gets slowly back to his feet.

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from McBuck in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

McBuck might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

McBuck scores with a jab. Carlton acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Carlton throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around McBuck's waist but McBuck gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Carlton off to one side.

Carlton wants to pass the guard but McBuck is keeping the position.
Carlton is pushing down on McBuck's leg trying to pass to half guard. McBuck is fighting to maintain full guard but Carlton has managed to sneak the leg through.
Carlton misses with a head shot. McBuck uses the momentum to regain guard.
Carlton throws and elbow that misses. McBuck uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Carlton's guard. Nice move by McBuck!

Carlton looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! McBuck has picked Carlton up and slammed him! Carlton can't keep hold of the triangle and McBuck manages to pass to side control!

Carlton throws a right hand that McBuck ducks under and follows up with a left that McBuck also avoids with ease.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Well Carlton has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
