The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guidry shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Boyd sprawls well. Boyd wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Guidry gets slowly back to his feet.
Boyd ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Guidry moves away.
A slapping leg kick lands for Boyd.
A solid leg kick lands there for Boyd.
Guidry looks gassed!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Guidry blocks a head kick by Boyd.
Boyd tries to bum rush Guidry with a series of wild strikes but Guidry uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Boyd lands a nice hook to Guidry's body. Guidry takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Boyd throws a nice outside leg kick.
Boyd attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Guidry stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Boyd.
Guidry blocks a head kick by Boyd.
Rice Boyd seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boyd lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Guidry is looking to close the distance but Boyd sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Guidry crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Guidry is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
