Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cheick Kongo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Schuman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schuman clinches up with Kongo and pushes him back against the cage.
Kongo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Schuman lands a jab to Kongo's midsection.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Schuman.
Kongo is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Schuman tries to score with some ground and pound. Kongo controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Kongo leaves Schuman with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Kongo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Schuman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Kongo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Schuman has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kongo has managed to get both his arms back between Schuman's legs - danger averted.

Kongo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Schuman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Kongo is tightening it up a little... Schuman has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Schuman reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Schuman taps out! nice BJJ there by Kongo!
