Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Frank Toney!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kamil Bulat!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bulat misses with a few strikes there.
Bulat steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Toney.

Toney closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Bulat is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Toney is looking to take a break and control but Bulat is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Bulat is trying to improve his position.
Bulat regains half guard.
Bulat blocking the ground and pound attempt from Toney.
Toney keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Toney prevents Bulat from standing back up.
Toney has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Toney wants to control the pace but Bulat is squirming around nicely.

Bulat in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Bulat tries to lock up and control but Toney gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Toney connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Toney looking to secure an arm triangle but Bulat defends it well.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Toney is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Bulat is surviving well by controlling Toney's body position as best he can.
Toney is breathing heavily.

A nice elbow there by Toney.
Toney looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Toney connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Bulat is working to get back to half guard.

Bulat with a lazy takedown attempt

and Toney counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Bulat!
Bulat wants to get back to his feet.
Toney can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Bulat is looking to escape.
Bulat really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Toney. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Frank Toney just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Bulat doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Toney counters with a single leg into guard. Bulat didn't expect that.
Bulat controls Toney momentarily but Toney frees himself.
Toney pushes down on Bulat's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Toney is keen to just control but Bulat is a slippery customer.
Toney passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Bulat!
Bulat takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Toney lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Bulat hang on?
Toney postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Bulat looks a forlorn figure.

Toney looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Toney lands a big elbow.
Toney content just to control the position here.
Toney has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Toney looking to finish Bulat with some ground and pound. This is bad for Bulat!
The referee warns Bulat that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Toney is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Bulat can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Bulat is bucking up trying to escape but Toney cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Toney pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Toney takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Toney tries to control but Bulat wriggling away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frank Toney dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Bulat gets caught flat footed, as Toney shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Toney looking to sit in guard and control but Bulat gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Bulat tries to free his leg and advance position but Toney is retaining full guard.
Bulat preventing the sweep.
Bulat wants to stand but Toney has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Toney seems keen to control Bulat's posture.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Toney has his hands on Bulat's head, controlling the position.
Bulat is looking to advance position but Toney has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Bulat is looking to get to half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Toney has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Bulat's face.
Bulat tries to buck Toney off but he can't manage it.
Bulat wants to control but Toney is having none of it.

Frank Toney is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Bulat shoots and misses

and Toney counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Toney seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Bulat can't keep his opponent in guard - Toney advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Well Toney has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
