Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Raymond Wannis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul The Ribber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Raymond Wannis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Paul The Ribber!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Ben Zyskovitsi and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The Ribber clinches with his opponent.
Wannis misses with a body punch.

and The Ribber cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

The Ribber shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Wannis manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Wannis working for a triangle but The Ribber defends it easily.
The Ribber is stalling in the full guard.
Wannis wants to sweep here but The Ribber controlling him for the moment.
Wannis throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Wannis wants to stand and escape but The Ribber is having none of it.
The Ribber looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

The Ribber trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Wannis is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The Ribber is trying to control but can't.
It looks like Wannis is going to stand back up.
Wannis is looking to take a break and control but The Ribber is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Wannis not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Wannis is just content to waste time from the top position. The Ribber takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and The Ribber counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by The Ribber.
Wannis misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from The Ribber.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Wannis just misses with a elbow thrown towards The Ribber's brow.

The Ribber pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Raymond Wannis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wannis wants to clinch but The Ribber slips to the side
and The Ribber counters with a two punch combo.

The Ribber closes the distance and clinches.

and The Ribber holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
The Ribber dodges an elbow strike from Wannis.

The Ribber breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and The Ribber counters with a shoot takedown. Wannis fights it but they end up in guard.

The Ribber gets to his feet. Wannis looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Wannis wants to clinch but The Ribber slips to the side

and The Ribber holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
The Ribber blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Wannis misses with a hook to the ribs.
Wannis tries to work over The Ribber's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

The Ribber pulls Wannis into guard.
Wannis would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Wannis looking to pass the guard.

The Ribber kicks Wannis off and gets to his feet.
Wannis closes the distance but The Ribber moves to the side

and The Ribber counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Wannis's guard now.
Wannis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for The Ribber on the ground.
The Ribber sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Wannis could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Wannis escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. The Ribber gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

The Ribber drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and The Ribber jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Wannis looking to hit a scissor sweep but The Ribber is one step ahead there.
Wannis is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst The Ribber is controlling him.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The Ribber is stalling in the full guard.

The Ribber stands and steps away. Wannis gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul The Ribber dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Wannis tries to grapple but his opponent circles

so The Ribber counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Wannis lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for The Ribber!
Wannis postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. The Ribber looks a forlorn figure.
Wannis trying to control but The Ribber is having none of it.
Wannis lands a heavy elbow.

Wannis goes for an armbar but The Ribber turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from The Ribber.
Wannis not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The Ribber stands up and waves to Wannis to follow him.
The Ribber is breathing heavily.
Wannis tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and The Ribber counters by clinching up.

The Ribber manages to pull guard.

Wannis stands up and waves to The Ribber to follow him.
Paul The Ribber is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

The Ribber closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Wannis is trying to control The Ribber's posture but The Ribber avoids it.
Wannis is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but The Ribber has just dragged him back down to the mat.

The Ribber has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Wannis closes the distance but The Ribber moves to the side

The Ribber is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Wannis throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Wannis struggles to land a body shot inside as The Ribber controls his hands.
Wannis pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

The Ribber ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. The Ribber no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Wannis has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of The Ribber is proving hard to escape from.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The Ribber bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wannis's guard.

The Ribber working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Wannis's head.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
The Ribber circles away from the clinch attempt
and The Ribber counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Wannis thinking.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul The Ribber showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Wannis's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!

Wannis tries to roll over but The Ribber keeps him under control.
The Ribber is thwarting Wannis's attempts to control the position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. The Ribber connects with a nice short shot to Wannis's temple.

Wannis wants to control but The Ribber is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The Ribber takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Wannis is looking to get back to is feet but The Ribber passes into side control.

The Ribber decides to take the fight back to the feet.

The Ribber shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Wannis is trying to defend but The Ribber finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The Ribber seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Wannis does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The Ribber has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
The Ribber swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Wannis pushes down on The Ribber's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Wannis is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

The Ribber wants to get back to his feet.
Wannis trying to control but The Ribber is having none of it.
Wannis is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Wannis can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as The Ribber is looking to escape.
The Ribber tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Wannis looking to control but The Ribber is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Wannis wants to take his opponent's back but The Ribber doesn't allow it.
The Ribber is trying desperately to improve position.
Wannis wants to stand but The Ribber is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.

Wannis has control of The Ribber's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and The Ribber regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The Ribber wants to hold on but Wannis pushes him away.
Raymond Wannis has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Paul The Ribber is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Wannis working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Paul The Ribber comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well The Ribber has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
