PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Amilton Mello (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Mello might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Progenies Of The Great Apocalypse . I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Amilton Mello!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dave Lee!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Luis Engracia and Leandro Rodrigues.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mello.
Mello showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Lee.
Mello takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Mello tries to keep at a distance but Lee has taken the fight into the clinch.
Mello is working for takedown but Lee is calmly controlling the position for now.
Mello tries to pull guard but Lee won't allow it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Amilton Mello. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Mello breaks from the clinch.
Mello shoots in but Lee avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Lee has managed to clinch.
Mello throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Lee blocks it with crossed arms.
Lee prevents the takedown attempt.
Lee has had enough of the clinch but Mello keeps him there for the moment.
Lee wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Mello has him pressed against the ropes.

Lee pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lee cracks Mello with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Lee has cracked Mello with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Lee lands another huge swinging hook and Mello tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Mello, before Lee can land any more shots!
