Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jay Daniels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stone is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by 2001 Space Odissey/Blow me away (Breaking Benjamin) combo. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jay Daniels!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Phil Stone!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Nard Betker and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daniels shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Stone as he jumps to the side.
Stone throws a series of strikes that have Daniels backpedaling.

Stone closes the distance and clinches.

Stone manages to break the clinch.

Stone shoots in and bounces Daniels off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Stone has gone for a leg lock! Daniels slips out almost immediately though and dives into Stone's guard.
Daniels wants to pass the guard but Stone is keeping the position.

Stone escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Daniels gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Stone is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Stone counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Daniels's guard now.
Daniels controls Stone momentarily but Stone frees himself.
Stone throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Daniels works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Daniels working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Stone doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Stone manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Stone stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Daniels swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Stone accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Stone counters with a nice uppercut.

Stone closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Daniels did well to prevent Stone getting side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Daniels is trying to get back to full guard.
Stone thows a huge punch but Daniels dodges it nicely.

Stone wants to work for an arm triangle but Daniels is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Daniels is looking for a sweep. Stone is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Well Stone has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
