Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ed Sterns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Rude (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rude digs a good hook to Sterns's body.
Sterns throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Sterns keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Rude throws a head kick that misses.
Rude will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Donk. Rude catches Sterns right on the button with a cross.
Rude fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Sterns blocks a head kick by Rude.
Sterns throws a leg kick
and Rude cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Sterns throws a sloppy head kick and Rude moves out of range easily.
Sterns swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Sterns tries to clinch up.
Rude fails with an attempt to clinch.
Rude closes the distance but Sterns moves to the side

and Sterns counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Sterns looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Rude tries to kick Sterns off but Sterns keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Sterns is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Rude still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Rude has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Sterns gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Rude tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Sterns has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rude is working away from the top position though.
Sterns is trying to get back to full guard.
Sterns works his way to full guard. Good work.
Rude wants to stand but Sterns is controlling his posture from full guard.
Rude really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sterns. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Sterns looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Sterns tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Rude slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Rude stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sterns swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Rude looks gassed!

Rude has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Sterns to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Rude is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Sterns pulls down on the head and he's put Rude to sleep! This one is all over!
