PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Escobar Alexander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Chase (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alexander kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Let it Rock- Kevin Rudolf. Escobar Alexander has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, David Chase!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Ackerman and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alexander moves into the clinch.
Alexander tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Chase smiles and moves away.
Chase is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Alexander.

Alexander drives through and clinches with Chase against the cage.
Alexander on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Alexander prevents Chase from breaking the clinch.
Chase tries to land a knee to the head but Alexander blocks with his arms.

Alexander successfully pulls guard.
Alexander knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Chase on the ground.
Chase trying to control but Alexander is working from the bottom.
Alexander wants to get back to his feet but Chase is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Chase trying to stand up but can't free himself from Alexander's guard.

Alexander had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Chase is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Alexander Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Chase's back instead.
Chase wants to control his opponent's hands but Alexander gets his hands free.
Alexander lands strikes to the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Alexander is trying to stick to Chase's back but Chase is turning into Alexander. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Alexander's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Chase.
Alexander thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Chase preventing the sweep.
Alexander striking off his back but it's not causing Chase any problems.
Alexander is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Chase looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Alexander pushes Chase off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Alexander has closed the distance and engaged Chase in a clinch.

Chase jumps guard and drags Alexander to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Alexander wants to stand but Chase has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Alexander lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Alexander is breathing heavily.

Chase is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Chase lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Alexander.
Alexander tries to escape but Chase has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Chase is looking for the choke from the back position but Alexander is controlling his hands well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Chase is persistently looking for the submission but Alexander is defending it well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alexander prevents Chase from getting a body triangle.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Chase has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Alexander is defending well but eventually Chase manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Alexander has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
