PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Trey Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Claude Mousasi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wilson's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Go to sleep. The crowd seem to be enjoying Mousasi's choice of entrance music: Hi-Gate: Pitchin. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Trey Wilson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jean Claude Mousasi!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Paulsen Ambrosius and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mousasi tries to clinch but Wilson is having none of it.
Mousasi fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Wilson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Wilson lands in his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wilson won't allow Mousasi to get back to his feet.
Wilson trying to control but Mousasi is working from the bottom.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Mousasi is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Wilson is controlling him.

Wilson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Wilson looking to pass the guard.
Wilson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mousasi's guard.
Wilson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mousasi keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Wilson shoots for a takedown but Mousasi saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Mousasi looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Wilson!

Wilson tries to lock up and control but Mousasi gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Mousasi takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Mousasi avoids the attempt from Wilson to control.

Wilson tries to reverse the position but Mousasi maintains control.
Wilson takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Mousasi controlling from the full mount.
Wilson is wriggling around trying to escape.
Mousasi content just to control the position here.
Wilson sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Wilson actively working from the bottom here.
Wilson is breathing heavily.
Mousasi is nestled in close to Wilson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Wilson gets back to full guard.
Mousasi trying to control the position from guard on top but Wilson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mousasi must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Mousasi stands and steps away. Wilson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Mousasi throws a sloppy head kick and Wilson moves out of range easily.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Wilson is defended easily by Mousasi.
Wilson shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Trey Wilson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A decent looking cross lands there for Mousasi.

Mousasi fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Wilson, pushing him back against the cage.
Wilson drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Mousasi pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Mousasi misses with an uppercut. Wilson saw that one coming.

Wilson gets the takedown into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wilson trying to control the action but Mousasi is working from the bottom.
Wilson tries to move to mount but Mousasi blocks the move with his legs.
Mousasi manages to get back to half guard.
Mousasi is trying to stand.
Wilson looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Mousasi looks like he's trying to stand up.
Wilson moves nicely into side control.
Mousasi tries to buck Wilson off but Wilson is having none of it.
Mousasi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wilson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Wilson has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Mousasi!
Wilson lands a heavy elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Trey Wilson will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Wilson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Mousasi is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Wilson is controlling him well.

Wilson has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Mousasi is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Wilson yanks on the arm and Mousasi is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Wilson.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Trey Wilson!
