Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Kirby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Garrett Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Garrett Allen will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joe Kirby!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Garrett Allen!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Daniel Blasius and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kirby throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Allen dodges the punch combination from Kirby.

Allen gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Allen looking for a sweep. Not yet Allen, not yet.
Kirby is looking to stand up but Allen won't let him.
Allen keeping full guard, as Kirby tries to pass.
Kirby might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Kirby in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Allen wants to stand up but Kirby is controlling him.
Kirby postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Allen trying to keep a closed guard but Kirby is proving a slippery customer.
Allen keeping moving, preventing Kirby from controlling successfully.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Kirby tries to clinch there but Allen circles away.
Kirby shoots in for a takedown but Allen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Kirby tries to score with a low kick but Allen moves his leg out of the way.
Allen moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Allen shoots and misses

and Kirby counters with a nice double leg into side control. Allen won't be happy with that.
Allen is looking for a sweep.
Allen is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
You can see the frustration on Allen's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Kirby has control of an arm but Allen manages to advance to Kirby's back!
Kirby controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
Kirby is breathing heavily.
Kirby trying to control the action but Allen just sinks the hooks in.
Allen keeps control of the position as Kirby tries to break free.
Kirby just trying to survive but Allen is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Allen is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Will Allen go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Allen keeps control of the position easily here as Kirby tries to buck him off.

Allen looking to break Kirby's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Kirby remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Allen will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Kirby looking very determined here, making life difficult for Allen.
I would not like to be Kirby right now.

Despite being in the dominant position, Garrett Allen just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Kirby counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Allen wants to get back to his feet.

Allen is trying to maintain the position but Kirby is very close to passing his half guard.
Kirby throwing shots but Allen is blocking nicely.
Kirby is taking a breather. Allen says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Allen wants to control the action here but instead Kirby manages to pass to full mount!
Allen tries to reverse the position but Kirby maintains control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's time! Kirby's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Kirby shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Allen as he jumps to the side.

Allen scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Kirby wants to control but Allen postures up.
The strikes coming from Allen are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Kirby is looking to reverse the position.
Allen tries to advance to mount but Kirby denies him.
Kirby is trying to get back to half guard.

Allen has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kirby tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Allen paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Kirby counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Allen kicks Kirby off and gets to his feet.
Allen tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kirby not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Allen makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Allen.
Allen has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Kirby loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Allen wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Kirby wants to control from the top but Allen keeps moving.

Kirby is pushing down on Allen's leg trying to pass to half guard. Allen is fighting to maintain full guard but Kirby has managed to sneak the leg through.

Allen wants to get back to his feet.
Allen wants to control but Kirby is keeping busy.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Allen is looking for a sweep. Kirby is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Allen works his way to full guard. Good work.
Kirby trying to control the position from guard on top but Allen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kirby tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Allen decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kirby's guard.
Allen pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kirby is keeping the position for now.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kirby wants to stand and escape but Allen is having none of it.
Kirby has a closed guard, preventing Allen from standing up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Garrett Allen will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Allen wanted to stand there but Kirby had control of the position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kirby keeping moving, preventing Allen from controlling successfully.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Allen fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Kirby shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Kirby wants to control the pace but Allen is squirming around nicely.
Kirby looking to ground and pound but Allen is blocking nicely.
Allen wants to hold on but Kirby pushes him away.
Allen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kirby. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kirby trying to control but Allen is having none of it.
Joe Kirby overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Allen can't escape the position.
Kirby throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Allen wants to control but Kirby is having none of it.
Kirby manages to capitalize on a mistake by Allen to take his back!
Allen avoids the strikes from Kirby.

Allen manages to get to his feet, escaping the difficult position.

Kirby fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Allen, pushing him back against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Allen tries to score a body lock takedown but Kirby shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Joe Kirby has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Garrett Allen.
Kirby can't get the takedown.
Kirby prevents the takedown attempt.
Allen can't get the takedown.

Kirby ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kirby no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Allen wants to control from the top but Kirby keeps moving.
Allen might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kirby kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Joe Kirby.
I think Kirby has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
