The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maia bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Maia wants to control but Kang is keeping him busy.

Maia working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Maia tries to advance to mount but can't.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Sheldon Maia just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Kang will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
