Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matti Puoskari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Miller has chosen Lose Yourself as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Matti Puoskari!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Miller!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Puoskari avoids it really well and circles away.
Puoskari tries to clinch there but Miller circles away.
Puoskari is looking to clinch.
Miller pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Miller keeps the fight on the outside.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Puoskari tries to clinch up.
Puoskari looks to score with a jab to the body but Miller is just out of range.

Miller's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Miller wants a takedown.
Matti Puoskari has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Miller.

Puoskari stops a takedown attempt from Miller.
Miller using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Puoskari has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Puoskari is working for takedown but Miller is calmly controlling the position for now.

Miller wants to take a breather but Puoskari is having none of it.
Puoskari on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Puoskari tries to get out of the position.

Puoskari wants to get back to full guard.
Puoskari wants to control but Miller is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Puoskari tries to roll over but Miller keeps him under control.
Puoskari makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Puoskari.
Puoskari wants to sweep but no luck.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Miller counters with a shoot takedown. Puoskari fights it but they end up in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Puoskari wants to stand up but Miller is controlling him.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Puoskari is on top in guard.

Puoskari sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Miller's guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Puoskari's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Puoskari working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Miller is in trouble now - Puoskari has advanced to mount!
Puoskari takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Puoskari fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Jason Miller dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Puoskari closes the distance and pushes Miller back into the cage.

Miller's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Miller tries to pull guard but Puoskari won't allow it.
Puoskari drops down looking for an ankle pick but Miller pulls his leg out and moves away.

Puoskari is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Puoskari has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Puoskari lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Puoskari cracks Miller with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Puoskari takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Puoskari connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Puoskari has hold of Miller's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Miller manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Puoskari pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Puoskari seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Miller for as long as he can get away with.
Puoskari has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Puoskari jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Miller walks away with a smile on his face. Puoskari gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

and Miller counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Puoskari's guard now.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Puoskari is controlling Miller's posture.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Matti Puoskari just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Puoskari closes the distance and clinches.

Puoskari pulls guard effortlessly.
Miller won't allow Puoskari to sweep him here.
Miller throws a big right hand that misses.
Puoskari wants to sweep here but Miller controlling him for the moment.
Miller is fighting to break Puoskari's control of his arms but Puoskari is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Puoskari lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Miller!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Matti Puoskari.
I think Puoskari has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
