PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dante Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kristoffer Osterberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Dante Silva has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Dante Silva seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Osterberg tries to close the distance and clinch up but Silva swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Osterberg clinches.
Osterberg is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Silva is defending well for now.
Osterberg drops down looking for an ankle pick but Silva pulls his leg out and moves away.

Silva shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Silva is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Silva stands up over Osterberg, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Silva drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Silva jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Osterberg sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Silva is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Osterberg's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Osterberg's back!
Silva is breathing heavily.
Osterberg just trying to survive but Silva is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Silva lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.

Silva has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Osterberg has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Silva seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Osterberg does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva tries to pass the half guard into mount. Osterberg knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Silva has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Silva wants to lay and pray for a moment but Osterberg keeps working.

Silva is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Osterberg is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Osterberg regains half guard there - taking advantage of Silva's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Silva goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Osterberg is on top in guard.

Silva pushes Osterberg off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Osterberg really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Silva, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
