PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tom Duncan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marin Zeus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Duncan comes into the arena with Haka blaring out of the sound system. Zeus is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Step Up by Drowning Pool. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duncan throws a head kick that misses.
Zeus throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Duncan's waist but Duncan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Zeus off to one side.
Duncan throws out a leg kick but Zeus moves out of range and Duncan only half commits.
Zeus scores with a three punch combo!

Duncan takes the fight into the clinch.

Duncan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Duncan clinches up against the cage.
Duncan effectively controlling the action here.
Duncan blocks an uppercut.
Duncan is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Zeus fails to pull guard.
Duncan prevents the takedown attempt.
Tom Duncan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marin Zeus.
Duncan lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Duncan lands a right hand that snaps the head of Zeus backwards.
Duncan is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Duncan lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Zeus backwards.

Zeus tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Duncan just stands there and leans against the cage.

It looks like Marin Zeus has been cut.
Zeus is looking to break free of the clinch but Duncan has double underhooks.
Zeus can't break the clinch.
Zeus fails to pull guard.
Duncan scores with a hook to the body.
Duncan lands a nice uppercut.
Duncan stalling the fight.
Duncan creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Zeus's defenses.
The referee is keeping an eye on Duncan - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
A short body shot lands from Duncan as the two fighters clinch.

Duncan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Zeus throws a head kick but Duncan moves out of range.
Zeus takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Zeus looks gassed!
Duncan blocks the body kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Duncan moves into the clinch.
Duncan lands an elbow inside that Zeus shrugs off.

That has opened up Marin Zeus's cut even more.
Duncan blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Duncan will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Zeus up against the cage.
Duncan throws a big uppercut that drops Zeus! More strikes from Duncan and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Zeus lies dazed against the cage as Duncan celebrates with his cornermen!
