Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between ben wells (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Onng The Survivor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
wells blocks a head kick by The Survivor.
wells wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
wells shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts The Survivor as he jumps to the side.

and wells counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The Survivor is looking to get back to is feet but wells passes into side control.
wells lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear The Survivor down.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
wells creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
wells has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The Survivor really doesn't want to stay on the ground with wells. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The Survivor is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, wells asserts his dominance and retains side control.

wells tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no wells has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

wells wants to lay and pray for a moment but The Survivor keeps working.
The Survivor takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The Survivor displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as wells throws out the jab.

wells lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
wells lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
The Survivor is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

The referee warns The Survivor that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
wells unloads with some vicious shots from mount and The Survivor wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! wells celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
