Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stevie Midgar!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Columbo Gatti and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taker throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Midgar swings for the body but Taker moves out of range.
Midgar swats away the attempt to clinch by Taker.
Midgar just misses with a punch to the body.
A punch combination from Taker misses.
Taker throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Midgar throws a left and a right that both miss

and Taker counters by moving into the clinch.
Taker scores with a hook to the body.
Taker lands a shot to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Taker misses with the head strike.
Midgar is trying to break free.

Taker breaks the clinch.
Jim Taker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Midgar misses with a wild combination.
Taker throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Taker tries to land a leg kick but Midgar saw it coming and moves away.

Taker takes the fight into the clinch.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Taker.
Midgar is looking for a sweep.
Taker wants to lay and pray for a moment but Midgar keeps working.
Taker tries to stand but Midgar controls the position and pulls Taker into his guard.

Midgar keeping moving, preventing Taker from controlling successfully.
Midgar is trying to control the position but Taker postures up.
Taker looking to pass the guard.
Midgar is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Taker trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

It looks like Jim Taker has been cut.

Midgar throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Taker.

Taker forces Midgar back against the ropes and clinches.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Midgar.
Taker has Midgar pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Midgar manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Taker misses with a body punch.
Taker drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Midgar trying to control the position but instead, Taker has worked for underhooks and has pushed Midgar into the ropes.

Taker breaks the clinch.
Midgar lands with a hook. Taker tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Midgar swats away the attempt to clinch by Taker.
Taker connects with a high kick.
BOOM! Midgar lands a beautiful left hook that drops Taker. Taker tries to recover but Midgar is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Taker lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Stevie Midgar!
