The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fedor tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mesnar swivels and escapes.
Fedor looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Fedor avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Emelianenko Fedor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mesnar has Fedor up against the ropes in a clinch.
Mesnar lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

It looks like Emelianenko Fedor has been cut.
Mesnar drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Fedor gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Mesnar has clasped his hands together around Fedor's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Mesnar has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Fedor!
Mesnar lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mesnar loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Fedor scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Mesnar land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Mesnar stands and salutes the crowd.
