The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machida stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Machida wants it to stay on the feet.
Machida scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

souza ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. souza no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

souza is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Machida is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Machida has escaped and now he's on top!
Machida is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
