Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kaos Bates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcus Rogers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kaos Bates!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Joseph Jones and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bates uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rogers.
Rogers is looking to clinch.
Bates misses with a two punch combination.
Rogers tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Bates shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Rogers looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Bates trying to control but Rogers is working from the bottom.
Bates is fighting to break Rogers's control of his arms but Rogers is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Rogers is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Bates prevents Rogers from getting back to his feet.

Bates postures up in Rogers's guard and throws a big left but Rogers blocks it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
No luck for Rogers with that takedown attempt.

Rogers tries a head kick but it misses.
Rogers moves in looking to clinch but Bates pushes him off.
Bates wants to clinch.

and Rogers moves into the clinch.
Bates tries to pull guard but Rogers holds him up against the cage and eventually Bates drops back down to his feet.

Bates breaks from the clinch.
Rogers stuns Bates with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Bates shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Bates showed some decent athleticism there.
Bates looks gassed!

Rogers is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Rogers is pressing down on Bates's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Bates trying to control the position from guard on top but Rogers is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Rogers wants to stand and escape but Bates is having none of it.
Rogers is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Rogers takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Still in half guard, Rogers seems content to control.
Bates is looking to escape.
Rogers thows a huge punch but Bates dodges it nicely.
Rogers is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Bates!
The referee warns Bates that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Rogers tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Rogers lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Bates hang on?
Rogers controlling the position easily from mount.
Bates working to try and regain half guard.
Rogers controlling his opponent.
Bates is wriggling around trying to escape.
Bates tries to hold on but Rogers pushes him away.
Bates is desperately trying to improve his position but Rogers has a good base and remains in mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rogers shoots for a double leg takedown but Bates sprawls well. He's pushed Rogers's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Rogers takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Bates throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rogers's waist but Rogers gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bates off to one side.
Bates displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Rogers throws out the jab.

Rogers swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Rogers pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rogers scores with a hook to the body. Bates takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Rogers misses with a series of wild punches.
Bates shoots for a takedown but Rogers saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Rogers misses with a few strikes there.
Bates gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Rogers counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Marcus Rogers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kaos Bates.

Bates moves into the clinch successfully.

Bates escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rogers looks to land a combination but Bates avoids it well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Rogers moves out of range as Bates throws a body kick.

Bates pushes Rogers up against the cage in a clinch.
Bates wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Rogers is trying to break free.
Bates lands a nice shot to the body.
Bates fails to pull guard.
Rogers tries to break the clinch but Bates is controlling the position.
Rogers wants to stall.

Bates escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Rogers pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rogers lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Bates sprawling to the canvas. Rogers follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Bates hang on?


It looks like Kaos Bates has been cut.
Rogers controlling the action here.
Rogers looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Bates with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Rogers is taking a breather. Bates says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bates trying to hold on to Rogers's head to control him but Rogers postures up.
Rogers perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rogers tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Bates.

Rogers not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Marcus Rogers just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Rogers shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bates as he jumps to the side.

Bates breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Nice body kick there by Bates.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rogers is not content to let Bates control the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rogers can't do much from the bottom here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marcus Rogers dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Kaos Bates's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Rogers fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Rogers shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bates as he jumps to the side.

Rogers has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Bates avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marcus Rogers. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Some wild striking there from Rogers.
Rogers misses with a hook. Bates ducked under it nicely.
Bates slips a jab and a cross from Rogers.

and Bates counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Rogers is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Rogers can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Bates controls the pace.
Bates postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Bates gets to his feet. Rogers looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Bates changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rogers tries to avoid it but Bates manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rogers to the ground. Rogers escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Marcus Rogers is winning the standup battle so far.

Rogers uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Rogers shoots in and bounces Bates off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Rogers is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Bates seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Rogers lands a couple of elbows.
Rogers is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Rogers wants to pass the guard but Bates is keeping the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kaos Bates comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Rogers has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
