Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Don Hall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Darren Burns!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hall throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Burns tries to clinch up.
Burns fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hall misses with a body shot.

Hall closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Hall tries to move into full mount but can't pass Burns's legs.
Burns tries to escape but Hall is in control.
Burns is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Hall is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Burns has escaped the position, nice work there.
Hall tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Hall with the ground and pound but Burns regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Hall wants to lay and pray for a moment but Burns keeps working.
Hall wants to free his trapped foot but Burns is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Hall sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Hall is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Burns tries to stand but Hall is controlling from the bottom.

Hall lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Burns!

Hall throws a front kick aimed at Burns's knee but Burns avoids it well.
Hall wants to slow Burns down by chopping away at his legs.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hall fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Burns is out of range.

Hall is looking for a sweep. Burns is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Burns wants to get back to his feet.
Hall is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
It looks like Burns is going to stand back up.
Burns prevents Hall from improving his position.

Burns is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Hall is trying to maintain the position but Burns is very close to passing his half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Burns avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Burns moves out of range as Hall strikes.
Burns takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Hall is looking to wear down Burns with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Hall throws a right and a left that Burns avoids nicely.
Don Hall is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hall takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Burns fails in his attempt to clinch.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hall shoots for a takedown but Burns saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Hall misses the body punch
and Hall takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Hall misses with a wild body shot.
Hall throws a right and a left that both miss.
Hall swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Burns counters with a left and a right that stings Hall.
Hall misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hall throws a body punch but Burns moves out of range.
Hall fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Burns manages to avoid it.

so Burns counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Hall bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Burns's guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Darren Burns showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Hall's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


No luck with that takedown attempt from Hall.

and Burns counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Burns putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Hall in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Hall is looking to break free of the clinch but Burns has double underhooks.
Burns tries to stall but Hall uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Hall is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.

Hall content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Burns kicks Hall off and gets back to his feet.

Horrible takedown by Burns or perhaps it was just good defense by Hall which made him look bad.

and Burns counters with a nice low kick that buckles Hall's knee momentarily.

and Burns counters by clinching up.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Burns tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Burns takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Hall pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hall throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Burns.

Hall is trying to keep Burns in close.

Burns won't allow Hall to sweep him here.
Don Hall overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Burns shoots in and drives through. Hall sprawls well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hall throws a head kick but Burns moves out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Burns looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hall swats away the attempt to clinch by Burns.
Burns tries to clinch but Hall is having none of it.
Nice takedown defense from Hall. No joy for Burns on that attempt.
Don Hall has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Darren Burns.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

I would just about give that final round to Darren Burns.
