Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mick Maurizio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Ducks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Maurizio might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to I'm Not the One (IWNBTS). Ducks comes into a darkened arena with his song building. It's Raining Men kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mick Maurizio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Frank Ducks!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Mauricio Rocha and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maurizio shoots in for a takedown but Ducks shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Maurizio shoots in and bounces Ducks off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Maurizio throws a big right hand that misses.
Maurizio throws a strike but Ducks rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Ducks is looking to stand up but Maurizio won't let him.
Maurizio seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Maurizio is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Maurizio has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Maurizio had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ducks defends it easily.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Maurizio looks for a takedown but Ducks sprawls well.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Maurizio is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Ducks has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Ducks!
