PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Juan Pulambrat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gokay Kvr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Emerson Jorge and Felipe Paraventi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pulambrat fails with an attempt to clinch.
A head kick misses from Kvr.

Kvr gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Kvr jumps guard but Pulambrat stands there with Kvr around his waist. Kvr gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Pulambrat has hold of one of Kvr's legs. Kvr is fighting the takedown attempt but Pulambrat gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Kvr can't keep his opponent in guard - Pulambrat advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Pulambrat is working for a kimura but Kvr is defending it quite comfortably.
Well, if Pulambrat is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Kvr stuffs the takedown attempt from Pulambrat. Pulambrat gets slowly back to his feet.

Kvr moves into the clinch.
Kvr tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Kvr manages to pull guard.
Pulambrat wants to pass the guard but Kvr is keeping the position.
Kvr tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Pulambrat looking to sit in guard and control but Kvr gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Kvr is looking to work some ground and pound but Pulambrat has wrist control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Kvr lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pulambrat circles away quickly and effectively.

Pulambrat shoots in and drives through. Kvr sprawls well.

Kvr tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pulambrat paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Gokay Kvr is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kvr throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Kvr defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Pulambrat.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Pulambrat shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Pulambrat is breathing heavily.
Pulambrat tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Kvr counters with a head kick.

Pulambrat feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Pulambrat has gone for a leg lock! Kvr slips out almost immediately though and dives into Pulambrat's guard.

Pulambrat drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kvr manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Pulambrat has Kvr in his guard.

Pulambrat closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Pulambrat is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kvr is just riding it out for now. Pulambrat eventually gives up the hold.
Kvr is looking for a sweep. Pulambrat is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Pulambrat wants to free his trapped foot but Kvr is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Pulambrat shoots in looking for a takedown. Kvr tries to sprawl out of it but Pulambrat keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kvr manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Pulambrat shoots for a double leg takedown but Kvr sprawls well. He's pushed Pulambrat's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
