Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rico Pfeifer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rico Pfeifer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nick Taylor!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Mauricio Rocha and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taylor fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Taylor tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Pfeifer swivels and escapes.
Taylor tries to close the distance and clinch but Pfeifer swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Taylor drives through with a takedown into guard.
Pfeifer throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Taylor thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Pfeifer looking for a sweep. Not yet Pfeifer, not yet.
Taylor drops back, looking for a kneebar! Pfeifer looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Pfeifer looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Pfeifer!
Pfeifer is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Taylor knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Taylor takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Pfeifer thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Taylor is looking to regain half guard here but Pfeifer keeps moving and retains side control.

Taylor had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Pfeifer defends it easily.
Taylor is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Pfeifer defends well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Taylor keeping moving, preventing Pfeifer from controlling successfully.
Pfeifer stands and steps away. Taylor gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Taylor shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Pfeifer tries to hold on but Taylor postures up.

Pfeifer sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Pfeifer has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Taylor is working away from the top position though.
Pfeifer tries to roll over but Taylor keeps him under control.
Taylor is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pfeifer is just riding it out for now. Taylor eventually gives up the hold.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Pfeifer has his hands clasped together around Taylor's back. He's all about the action.
Pfeifer is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Taylor is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Pfeifer has managed to free his arm - good work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Pfeifer throws a body punch but Taylor moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Rico Pfeifer will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Taylor shoots for a takedown but Pfeifer saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Pfeifer fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Taylor, pushing him back against the cage.
Pfeifer's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Pfeifer throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Taylor.
Pfeifer shoots in and bounces Taylor off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Taylor has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pfeifer can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Pfeifer slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Pfeifer tries to move to mount but Taylor blocks the move with his legs.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pfeifer is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Taylor has escaped the position, nice work there.
Taylor is not content to let Pfeifer control the position.
Taylor tries to buck Pfeifer off but Pfeifer is having none of it.
Taylor manages to get back to half guard.

Pfeifer frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Taylor sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Pfeifer looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Pfeifer prevents Taylor from standing back up.
Taylor slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Pfeifer connects with a couple of short punches.

Well, if Pfeifer is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Pfeifer wants to control but Taylor is keeping him busy.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
It looks like Pfeifer is going to stand back up.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Taylor shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Taylor was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Taylor seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Pfeifer is holding on tight.
Taylor connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Taylor goes for an armbar but Pfeifer turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Pfeifer.
Pfeifer not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

That was a close second round but I would say that Rico Pfeifer will probably get the nod.
That's time! Pfeifer's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

and Pfeifer moves into the clinch.
Pfeifer gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

This one could be over very soon! Pfeifer goes limp - he's gone! Taylor jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
