PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mickey Goldmill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kron Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The Bravery - time won't let me go. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mickey Goldmill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kron Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goldmill scores with a jab to the jaw.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Goldmill throws and elbow that misses. Gracie uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Goldmill's guard. Nice move by Gracie!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Gracie is looking to work some ground and pound but Goldmill has wrist control.

Gracie drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gracie jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

A frustrated look appears on Gracie's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Gracie is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Goldmill pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Gracie manages to break the clinch.
Goldmill lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Gracie is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Goldmill looks to land a combination but Gracie avoids it well.

Gracie changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Goldmill looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Gracie creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Goldmill sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Goldmill avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Gracie.
Gracie throws a strike aimed at the side of Goldmill's head but Goldmill avoids it well.

Gracie is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Goldmill knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Gracie goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Goldmill has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Gracie but great work by Goldmill.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Goldmill thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Gracie to regain full guard.
Goldmill looking to sit in guard and control but Gracie gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Goldmill wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Gracie manages to pass to side control.

Gracie tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gracie has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Goldmill manages to get back to half guard.
Gracie is just content to waste time from the top position. Goldmill takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Goldmill swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Gracie with a flurry of punches that miss.
Gracie throws a big right hand that misses.
Goldmill controlling Gracie's posture.
Gracie is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Goldmill has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Gracie has gone for a leg lock! Goldmill slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gracie's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kron Gracie comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I have no idea who won that fight. Let's wait and see whether the judges are as confused as me! Time for a split decision perhaps?!. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
