The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buff Bagwell throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Puncher's waist but Puncher gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Buff Bagwell off to one side.

and Buff Bagwell counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Buff Bagwell is pressing down on Puncher's thigh, looking to free his foot. Puncher is holding on for now.
Puncher is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Buff Bagwell winds up and cracks Puncher with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Puncher doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Buff Bagwell counters with a single leg into guard. Puncher didn't expect that.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Puncher wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Buff Bagwell postures up in Puncher's guard and throws a big left but Puncher blocks it.

Puncher has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Buff Bagwell can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Buff Bagwell gets to his feet. Puncher looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Buff Bagwell closes the distance and clinches up with Puncher, looking for a takedown. Buff Bagwell pushes Puncher against the cage but Puncher circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Puncher shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Buff Bagwell counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cock Puncher. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The fighters are battling for position here. Puncher manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Puncher has his foot on Buff Bagwell's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Buff Bagwell works his way back into a safe position though.
