Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Richard Bravo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Porthaven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). William Porthaven will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Richard Bravo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, William Porthaven!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Kenichi Hosakawa and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Porthaven tries to clinch up but Bravo circles away and keeps his distance.
Porthaven tries to close the distance and clinch but Bravo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Porthaven throws a hook but Bravo avoids it easily.

Porthaven moves into range and clinches up with Bravo.
Porthaven connects with a knee to the head.


It looks like Richard Bravo has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Porthaven tries to land a knee to the head but Bravo blocks with his arms.
Bravo is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Porthaven with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Bravo has picked Porthaven up - he's going for a ride! Bravo dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Bravo is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Bravo is looking for a kimura but Porthaven is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Bravo to get the leverage.
Porthaven is positioning himself well to prevent Bravo advancing to mount.
Porthaven is trying to control but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bravo is trying to work for a kimura but Porthaven is defending well.

Bravo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Bravo missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Porthaven is trying to stand up here but Bravo is controlling him well.
Porthaven keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Bravo is working for a submission of some sort.

Porthaven manages to work a leg through to get back to half guard here. Good work there by Porthaven, under a barage of strikes from Bravo.
Porthaven really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bravo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Porthaven is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Bravo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bravo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Bravo is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Porthaven knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Nice takedown defense from Porthaven. No joy for Bravo on that attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bravo gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Bravo closes the distance and clinches up with Porthaven, looking for a takedown. Bravo pushes Porthaven against the cage but Porthaven circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Porthaven throws a jab when Bravo was well out of range.

Porthaven lands with a shot to the body.
Porthaven tries to close the distance and clinch but Bravo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
William Porthaven seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bravo avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Bravo misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Porthaven keeps the fight on the outside.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Bravo.
Bravo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Porthaven fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
A looping hook to the body misses from Porthaven. Bravo does a little dance to reset his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Porthaven scores with a jab. Bravo acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

William Porthaven showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Porthaven scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Bravo doesn't seem bothered though.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Bravo circles away from the clinch attempt

and Bravo counters with a single leg into guard. Porthaven didn't expect that.
Bravo throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Porthaven works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Bravo scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Bravo postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Porthaven is trying to control the position but Bravo postures up.

Bravo with a flurry of punches that miss.
Porthaven wants to get back to his feet but Bravo is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Bravo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Bravo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Bravo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Porthaven swivels though and keeps the full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bravo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Porthaven fails with an attempt to clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Bravo shoots in for a takedown but Porthaven shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Bravo shoots in looking for a takedown. Porthaven tries to sprawl out of it but Bravo keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Porthaven manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Porthaven pushes Bravo up against the cage in a clinch.

And that's the end of the fight!
Richard Bravo showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Bravo has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
