PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hattori Hanzo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Brodie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hanzo comes into the arena with http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dczgUMom658&feature=PlayList&p=0D47F44EA6F80 blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brodie has closed the distance and engaged Hanzo in a clinch.
Brodie is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Hanzo is defending well for now.
Hanzo is trying to drag Brodie to the mat but Brodie just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Brodie tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Hanzo avoids it.
Hanzo is working for takedown but Brodie is calmly controlling the position for now.

Hanzo shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Brodie sprawls well. Brodie wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hanzo gets slowly back to his feet.

Brodie bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hanzo's guard.

Hanzo is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Brodie has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Brodie!

Despite being in the dominant position, William Brodie just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Hanzo drops back looking for a leg! Brodie is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Brodie manages to kick Hanzo off! Hanzo jumps back into Brodie's guard.

Hanzo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Brodie swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hanzo is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Brodie is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Brodie has escaped and now he's on top!

Well Brodie has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
