The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
HAMMER has a takedown stuffed.
HAMMER wants to clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - HAMMER looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Spackman clinches up with HAMMER and pushes him back against the cage.
HAMMER drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Spackman gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Spackman breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
HAMMER scores with a one two! Spackman had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

It looks like Dan Spackman has been cut.
HAMMER is breathing heavily.
HAMMER tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Spackman decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in HAMMER's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
This has been an exciting period of action!

HAMMER is looking for a triangle but Spackman pushes his legs off easily.

Spackman gets to his feet - HAMMER follows without any prompting.

Spackman instigates a clinch.

Spackman shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

HAMMER actively working from the bottom here.
HAMMER tries to roll over but Spackman keeps him under control.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Spackman lands a nice short elbow.
HAMMER on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Spackman prevents HAMMER from standing back up.

Spackman seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but HAMMER does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
HAMMER tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Spackman manages to move to mount!
HAMMER is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Spackman shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

HAMMER looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Spackman has picked HAMMER up and slammed him! HAMMER can't keep hold of the triangle and Spackman manages to pass to side control!

HAMMER wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Spackman decides to take the fight back to the feet.

HAMMER closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Spackman to the mat! Spackman manages to get full guard.

Spackman is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Spackman looking for a guillotine here but HAMMER defends easily.

HAMMER drops back looking for a leg! Spackman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Spackman manages to kick HAMMER off! HAMMER jumps back into Spackman's guard.

HAMMER is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

HAMMER drops back looking for a leg! Spackman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Spackman manages to kick HAMMER off! HAMMER jumps back into Spackman's guard.
HAMMER stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Spackman swivels though and keeps the full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Spackman is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. HAMMER is aware though and is defending well.

Spackman looking for a guillotine here but HAMMER defends easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

HAMMER clinches but Spackman breaks the clinch

and Spackman counters by moving into the clinch.
HAMMER has Spackman pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Spackman manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Spackman breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Spackman ducks under a wild hook from HAMMER.
HAMMER misses with a straight left.
HAMMER tries to score a power double leg takedown but Spackman sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten HAMMER somewhat.

Spackman clinches with his opponent.
Spackman lands an elbow that stopped HAMMER in his tracks for a moment.
Spackman connects with a knee to the head.

Spackman lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
HAMMER takes a knee right on the jaw!
HAMMER tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Spackman just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for THE HAMMER. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Spackman connects with a nasty looking knee right to HAMMER's face.

Spackman has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed HAMMER clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Spackman is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. HAMMER knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften HAMMER for a finish.

Dan Spackman has got the better of the ground game so far.
Spackman is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

HAMMER manages to reverse the position and now he's in Spackman's guard. Nice work there by HAMMER.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

HAMMER is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Spackman has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. HAMMER is looking to defend but Spackman has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for HAMMER! Spackman pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, HAMMER taps out and this one is all over!
