Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sam Stout (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ismo Laitela (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stout's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, How we do. Sam Stout could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Ismo Laitela's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sam Stout!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ismo Laitela!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Ivan Kurochkin and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stout pushes Laitela up against the cage in a clinch.
Stout pushes Laitela back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Laitela tries for a takedown but Stout manages to get underhooks.

Stout pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Stout has taken the fight to the clinch.
Laitela is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Stout pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Sam Stout has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ismo Laitela.

Stout decides to pull guard.
Laitela wants to pass the guard but Stout is keeping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Laitela postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Stout is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Laitela, into his guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Stout creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Laitela's defenses.

Stout escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Stout bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Stout wants to stand but Laitela is controlling his arm.
Stout knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Laitela on the ground.
Laitela is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Stout is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Stout pushes Laitela off and scrambles back to his feet.
Laitela is breathing heavily.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Laitela has Stout pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Stout manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Stout breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Laitela shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Stout as he jumps to the side.

A nice leg kick lands there from Stout.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Stout wants to clinch up but Laitela keeps it at a distance.

Laitela is trying hard to land a takedown here. Stout sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Stout feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Sam Stout is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Laitela is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Well Stout has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
