Pettersson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is War is My Destiny. Rickard Pettersson had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 171.6lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. julius tarona has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pettersson is looking to clinch.

tarona throws the left hand but Pettersson avoids the punch easily.

tarona scores with a crisp jab that stopped Pettersson in his tracks.
tarona stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Pettersson has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Pettersson there as he acknowledges the shot.
tarona blocks a head kick by Pettersson.
Pettersson walks into a straight right hand from tarona.
Pettersson takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
A lazy left from tarona finds it's target.
Pettersson moves in looking to clinch but tarona pushes him off.
tarona lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
tarona scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

Nice uppercut lands for tarona. That snapped Pettersson's head back.

tarona jabbing away but nothing is landing.
