Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nunoy Bermio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nunoy Bermio told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nunoy Bermio!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bermio shoots in but Smith avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Smith throws a right and a left that both miss.
Bermio shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Smith pinned against the cage. Smith gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Bermio lands a high kick!

It looks like James Smith has been cut.
Smith throws a head kick that misses

and Bermio decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Smith's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Smith working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bermio doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bermio manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Smith is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Smith looking to control but Bermio passes into half guard.
Smith on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Bermio decides to stand up.
Smith is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Bermio closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Bermio escapes and gets back to his feet.
Smith throws a sloppy head kick

and Bermio counters with a shoot takedown. Smith fights it but they end up in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bermio has gone for a leg lock! Smith slips out almost immediately though and dives into Bermio's guard.
Smith is pushing down on Bermio's leg trying to pass to half guard. Bermio is fighting to maintain full guard but Smith has managed to sneak the leg through.
Bermio is trying to maintain the position but Smith is very close to passing his half guard.
Smith stops Bermio from getting back to his feet.

Bermio regains full guard. Nicely done.
Smith wants to control from the top but Bermio keeps moving.
Bermio wants to improve his position but instead Smith has moved into half guard.
Bermio controlling the position for now.
Bermio moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Bermio uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Bermio throws a series of punches but Smith avoids them all with ease.
Smith misses with a low kick as Bermio jumps back.
A big right from Smith misses.

Bermio closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Smith to the mat! Smith manages to get full guard.

Smith wants to stand but Bermio is controlling the position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Smith throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Smith's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Bermio takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

It looks like Nunoy Bermio has been cut.
Bermio fails with the takedown.
Bermio closes this distance looking for a takedown but Smith circles away.
Bermio fails to land the takedown.
James Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nunoy Bermio.
Smith misses with a jab, cross combination.
Bermio drops Smith with a nice combination! Bermio dives into Smith's guard, looking to finish!

Smith is rocked!

Smith is working an open guard so Bermio takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Oh Smith is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Bermio closes the distance looking for a takedown. Bermio picks Smith up and slams him brutally to the floor. Smith is out! He's out cold! Wow, you don't see a finish like that every day!
