Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edvinas Narmontas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Narmontas has chosen Nelly - Here Comes Boom as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Edvinas Narmontas!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Steve Erwin and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Narmontas tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Liddell swivels and escapes.
Liddell avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Liddell is squirming around, avoiding Narmontas's attempts to control the action.
Narmontas is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Liddell reaches up to try and control the position but Narmontas seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Liddell rolls and tries to escape and now Narmontas has his back!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Liddell lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Narmontas with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Liddell to score with a decent uppercut.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Narmontas has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Narmontas there as he acknowledges the shot.

Narmontas shoots in looking for a takedown. Liddell tries to sprawl out of it but Narmontas keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Liddell manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Narmontas takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Liddell stalks Narmontas and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Narmontas's face. Narmontas staggers backwards, shaken.
Liddell closes the distance and lands a one-two.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Narmontas.

Liddell scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Liddell goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Liddell is working the combinations to good effect here.
Narmontas takes a jab right on the kisser.
Liddell is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Narmontas walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Liddell lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
