The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Smith jumps guard and drags Abraham to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Smith has a closed guard, preventing Abraham from standing up.
Abraham knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smith on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Abraham wants to get up but he can't break Smith's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
