PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jason Duck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Johnstone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnstone has chosen Living is a Problem as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Hirohito Nitta.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnstone swinging wildly here.
Johnstone throws a chopping leg kick but Duck manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Johnstone throws a hook to the side of Duck's head but Duck sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Johnstone shoots in but no luck this time.
Johnstone checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
A punch combination from Duck misses.
Johnstone shoots for a double leg takedown but Duck sprawls well. He's pushed Johnstone's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Johnstone misses with a takedown attempt - Duck sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Jason Duck has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy Johnstone.
Johnstone tries to close the distance and clinch but Duck swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Johnstone decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Duck's guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Johnstone wants to control from the top but Duck keeps moving.

Johnstone thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Johnstone won't allow Duck to get back to his feet.

Duck pulls Johnstone in close to prevent any damage.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Duck keeping moving, preventing Johnstone from controlling successfully.
Duck wants to stand up but Johnstone is controlling him.

Johnstone drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Johnstone jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Duck knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Johnstone on the ground.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Duck counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Johnstone throws a sloppy head kick and Duck moves out of range easily.

Duck tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Johnstone was well out of range. Poor timing from Duck.

Duck grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Johnstone takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Duck cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!
