Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Damien Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Michael Penn is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Penn!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Penn throws a head kick that half lands.
Silva lands a jab to the head.
No joy there for Silva, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Silva throws a series of punches but Penn moves out of range.
Silva goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
The fight stays on the outside here - Penn looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Silva misses with a two punch combination.
Penn closes the distance and pushes Silva back into the cage.
Penn fails to pull guard.
Penn tries to pull guard but Silva holds him up against the cage and eventually Penn drops back down to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round.

Damien Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Penn.
Penn fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Penn is trying to control the position but Silva postures up.
Silva won't allow Penn to get back to his feet.
Penn has a closed guard, preventing Silva from standing up.
Silva has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Penn looking to hit a scissor sweep but Silva is one step ahead there.
Silva is looking to stand up but Penn won't let him.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Penn is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Penn takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Damien Silva is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Silva throws a jab but it's blocked by Penn.
A head kick misses from Silva.
No luck for Penn with that takedown attempt.
Penn shoots in looking for a takedown. Silva tries to sprawl out of it but Penn keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Silva manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Penn changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Silva tries to avoid it but Penn manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Silva to the ground. Silva escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Penn looks gassed!
Silva feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Penn sprawling to the canvas! Penn rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Silva finish him?!
Silva drops Penn with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Penn! Silva dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Damien Silva!
