The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stalin fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. DeGarmo sprawls well initially but Stalin persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Stalin is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
DeGarmo looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Stalin gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
DeGarmo shoots for a double leg takedown but Stalin sprawls well. He's pushed DeGarmo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Stalin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around DeGarmo's waist but DeGarmo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Stalin off to one side.

Stalin throws a nice looking combination but DeGarmo bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Stalin closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Let's hope that Stalin has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
