PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eric Northman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Buffalo Bill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eric Northman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Buffalo Bill!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Dean Styles and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Northman shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bill pinned against the cage. Bill gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Nice takedown defense from Bill. No joy for Northman on that attempt.

Bill changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Northman looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Northman can't do much from the bottom here.
Northman is not content to let Bill control the position.
Bill wants to stand but Northman has his arm trapped.
Northman sneaks back into half guard.

Bill is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Northman has managed to free his arm - good work.
Northman keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Northman manages to get to full guard.
Northman is breathing heavily.
Northman controls Bill momentarily but Bill frees himself.
Northman wants to sweep here but Bill controlling him for the moment.
Northman pulls Bill in close to his closed guard and prevents Bill from doing any damage or advancing position.
Bill should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Bill has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Northman is proving hard to escape from.
Northman controls Bill momentarily but Bill frees himself.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Northman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bill doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bill manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Northman has his foot on Bill's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bill works his way back into a safe position though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Eric Northman just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Northman can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Bill controls the pace.

Northman bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bill's guard.

Buffalo Bill dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Northman is tying to control. Bill wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Bill manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Bill bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Northman manages to work his way to half guard, despite Bill's best efforts.

Northman manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bill manages to get himself to full guard.

Bill wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

and Bill counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Northman's guard now.

Northman had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Bill is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Northman Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Bill's back instead.

Bill is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Northman has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Bill is looking to defend but Northman has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Bill! Northman pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Bill taps out and this one is all over!
