PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Slow Fade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ralph Jar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Slow Fade has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Slow Fade seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ralph Jar!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Dillan Fox and Ian Loll.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jar bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Jar throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Jar lands a few punches from side control.

It looks like Slow Fade has been cut.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sloppy strikes there by Jar.
Jar misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Fade is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Fade wants to get back to full guard.
Jar thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Fade's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fade is looking to improve his position.
Jar lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Fade wants to control but Jar is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Jar not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Fade slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Fade has momentary wrist control but Jar slips an elbow through the middle.
Fade looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jar is one step ahead there.
Jar throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Jar passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Fade manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Fade slows the pace down in half guard.
Fade tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Jar won't allow Fade to pass to mount.
Fade is working hard here to advance position.
Jar manages to get to full guard.
Fade is fighting to break Jar's control of his arms but Jar is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Fade wants to control from the top but Jar keeps moving.
Fade is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Fade has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Jar shoots in looking for a takedown. Fade tries to sprawl out of it but Jar keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fade manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fade connects with a crisp jab.
Jar drops his hands momentarily and Fade takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Jar darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Ground and pound from Jar.

Slow Fade's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Fade is trying to maintain the position but Jar is very close to passing his half guard.
Fade tries to get to full guard but Jar has control of the leg.
Fade wants to control but Jar is keeping busy.
Jar is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Jeez, Slow Fade's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Slow Fade's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
