The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Guida.
Silva tries to improve position but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Guida is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Silva has escaped the position, nice work there.

Silva is trying to control Guida's posture but Guida avoids it.
Guida is looking to take a break and control but Silva is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Silva is letting Guida control him for a moment.

Silva wants to pass the guard but Guida is keeping the position.

Guida has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Silva is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Guida.

Silva is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Guida knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Guida can't do much from the bottom here.
Guida is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Silva wants to clinch up but Guida keeps it at a distance.

Guida shoots in and bounces Silva off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
