PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ken Severn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mikami Teru (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Severn might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Pride FC Theme. Ken Severn had a look across the ring there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ken Severn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mikami Teru!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Severn closes the distance and clinches.

Teru is fighting off a takedown attempt but Severn is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Teru to the mat. Teru regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Teru can do anything to dispel that myth.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Teru uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Severn has time to react.

Severn slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Teru stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Teru wants it to stay on the feet.
Teru is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Severn.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Severn jumps guard but Teru stands there with Severn around his waist. Severn gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Severn gets control of Teru's arms and successfully pulls guard. Severn will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Teru has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Severn is proving hard to escape from.
Severn wants to sweep here but Teru controlling him for the moment.

Teru really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Severn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Teru manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Severn is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Severn is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Teru defends it well.
