Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jay Roc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tiger Woodz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roc comes to the cage accompanied by Hey Man, Nice Shot. Tiger Woodz has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jay Roc's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jay Roc!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tiger Woodz!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Alyssa Summers and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Woodz fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Roc feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Roc is pushing down on Woodz's leg trying to pass to half guard. Woodz is fighting to maintain full guard but Roc has managed to sneak the leg through.

Roc seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Woodz has recovered full guard.

Roc will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
No joy there for Woodz, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Roc tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Roc has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Roc fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Woodz sprawls well initially but Roc persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Woodz wants to improve his position but Roc is controlling well.

Roc drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Roc jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Roc drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Woodz manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Roc has Woodz in his guard.

Roc has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Woodz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Woodz works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Roc tries to kick Woodz off but Woodz keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Roc pushes Woodz off but Woodz dives into side control.
Roc is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Woodz asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Roc tries to improve position but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Woodz in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Roc being controlled for a moment.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Woodz misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jay Roc is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Roc moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Woodz misses with a looping right.

Roc scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Roc is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Woodz defends it well.

Roc throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Woodz was covering up waiting for the punch and Roc finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Roc drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Roc jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Woodz misses with a takedown

Roc is working to tighten is grip on Woodz's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Woodz has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Roc is really squeezing tight and eventually Woodz passes out! Roc breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
